Hello, my name is Raquel Madrazo, I’m Transport Manager in ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions Processing for Salvatierra, Legasa site.

Can you provide an overview of your day-to-day responsibilities as a transport responsible?

Each day in logistics presents new challenges and opportunities. My role involves closely coordinating with the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials, consistently meeting our customers’ expectations. Additionally, we analyze market trends to enable swift responses, proactively addressing potential issues and staying ahead of our competitors.

What inspired you to pursue a career in transport within the steel industry?

I joined the company in 2001, starting in the laboratory. Over the years, I gained experience in various areas, including purchasing, quality, and transport. Five years ago, I was offered the opportunity to manage transport for ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions Processing in Spain, a role I eagerly accepted.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, and how have you overcome them?

It’s been a long journey, marked by numerous challenges. Through continuous training, I’ve successfully navigated each one.

What advice would you give to other women who are interested in pursuing a career in transport or the steel industry?
