Don’t hesitate to join the industry sector, and in particular ArcelorMittal. This is a company that offers a wide range of jobs where everyone can make their contribution.
When did you join ArcelorMittal?
I joined ArcelorMittal in September 2022. I was an apprentice: I was doing a Master’s degree in HR at the University of Reims.
My main project during the year was the implementation of the new collective agreement for the metallurgy industry, and in particular the job classification.
Afterward, I’ve been hired on a permanent contract from September 2023 as an HR Business Partner.
Can you provide an overview of the day-to-day responsibilities of your position?
Firstly, I support managers in the development of their teams and provide solutions to HR issues. Then, I prepare and take part in negotiation meetings with trade unions, which play a central role within the company.
Also, with IT Department, I create workflows to develop dematerialized HR solutions such as appraisal interviews, professional interviews, onboarding report for new employees and so on. I carry out recruitment and takes part in the creation of integration plan for new employees.
Lastly, I am also the Data Protection Officer of SSC France.
For you, how does Arcelormittal SSC Europe demonstrate its commitment to supporting professional growth and development of young talent?
Apprenticeship is an excellent way to learn and discover our activities. Every year, ArcelorMittal recruits a large number of apprentices and supports them.
Training courses are set up during the professional career to enhance the skills of young talent, succession plans give a career development perspective for young talent, and last but not least, ArcelorMittal offers a stimulating working environment with always new challenges.
How do you feel our company value and celebrate the diversity of talent among its employees?
I found that ArcelorMittal was committed to the notion of diversity. For example, we set up “Disability Week” to demystify disability and show that people with any kind of disability can work at ArcelorMittal.
What do you enjoy most about working in the industry?
Industry is an exciting sector of activity, synonymous with new technologies and innovation, which is constantly changing and evolving. There are always new challenges. One of the major challenges of the 21st century is decarbonization with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality for the ArcelorMittal group in 2050. Also, we are in contact with such a wealth and diversity of professions to carry out our work. It’s very interesting from a professional point of view.
