Hotchkiss Ltd and ArcelorMittal lead the way in decarbonising London’s Steel Construction with XCarb®

June 2024

Hotchkiss Ltd and ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions UK SSC are advancing the decarbonisation of steel construction with XCarb® for the 2 Aldermanbury Square project in London.

Hotchkiss Ltd and ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions UK SSC have become early partners in the quest for decarbonising the steel construction sector, with the use of XCarb Recycled and Renewably Produced Hot Dipped Galvanised coiled sheet metal to produce ductwork for the 2 Aldermanbury Square project building in London.

The ducting is produced from recycled scrap steel in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) with around a third of the CO² emissions vs traditional blast furnace produced steel.

Thanks to the team at Hotchkiss Ltd, Daniel Allistone, George Clancy, Luke B., Steve Hancock and the team from ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions UK SSC, Nick Jones, Bob Page, Steve Lee for their involvement in this successful programme.
